In September 2022 the Colinsburgh Community Trust established a weekly ‘Soup and a Blether’ café in the Galloway Library in Colinsburgh, run by a group of local, trained volunteers.
The objective of the café is to provide high quality, sustainable, and affordable service of homemade soups and baking, with refreshments, to residents of Colinsburgh and the wider public, and in doing so provide a focus for community interaction whilst also generating income to support the continued viability of the library.
The popular café is open from noon each Friday until about 2:30 pm. The café serves a choice of homemade soups, bread and butter, plus a selection home-baked cakes, and tea/coffee to follow.
Following the receipt of a grant from Fife Council, the food is currently being provided free of charge, although a small, voluntary donation is always welcome.
If you would like to be a volunteer for the café, then we'd love to hear from you to help share the load. We need people to make the soups and cakes and also set-up, run and close down the café. The volunteers agree the rota on a monthly basis, with no regular commitment required.

In October to November 2025 a satisfaction survey was carried out for Community Food Hub Service Users. You can read the results of the survey by clicking here.
