This page describes how individuals or organisations can raise funds to support community buildings and activities via either grant applications, fundraising events / activities or direct donations.
The Town Hall and Library Improvements page describes a range of on-going or potential projects to improve the fabric, fittings and fixtures of the Town Hall and Library to ensure that both buildings continue to provide a safe and pleasant environment for village events and activities and wherever possible support the Green Agenda via the use of renewable energy technologies.
At time of writing (February 2024) the potential total cost of the more significant projects is £160,000 and we have raised £12,000 towards them, so there is still a mountain to climb!
Funds to cover these costs are acquired via a variety of means, which are listed below. You can also find out how you can make a donation yourself.
The Community Trust Management Committee enthusiastically investigates all avenues to raise money from all available grant and charity relief options.
Over the years several large grants have been applied for successfully and the funds used for the stated purpose. These include:
In total over £93,000 has been raised by grant applications.
Colinsburgh Community Trust would like to thank the National Lottery and its players for making its funding available. This and all other contributions are all gratefully received.
Community building improvement activities depend very much on the support of village residents and local organisations and businesses to follow in the philanthropic footsteps of those who started the Town Hall over a hundred years ago, and help to provide facilities for the next hundred years. We have been blessed with several significant donations over the years.
Numerous individuals within the village work very hard to put on events in the Hall and Library to raise funds. These include parties, film nights, discos, dances, concerts talks and events to mark special occasions (such as the Coronation). Other groups and clubs in the village have also donated funds from events they have put on, e.g Youth Club and the Craft Group.
Since 2006 over £35,000 has been raised by these activities and donations and this is very much appreciated
To date we have raised nearly £150,000 from all these events, donations, gift aid and grants but it is always great to receive more. The Community Trust has a dedicated PayPal account to receive donations. If you want to make a donation to that account then please click on the button above or below and follow the instructions on the following page.
