Colinsburgh Community Garden Progress Update

26-Nov-2024:

• Volunteers identified (we need more!!!)
• Garden Committee established
• Garden Committee Constitution drafted and in process of being agreed with CCT Management Committee
• Purchased fruit trees, tree shelters for fruit trees, metal shed, picnic and park benches
• Paving slabs acquired for metal shed base
• Garden layout drafted (see images on RHS)
• Garden components marked out on field (see photos on RHS)
• First claim being made against FRDF funding to reimburse costs so far

8-Aug-2026: August 2026

• Storage shed erected
• Sit-on mower acquired
• Path to N of main road cleared and connnected to woodland walk
• All fruit and nut trees planted
• Hedging planted
• Vegetable plot laid out and 5/10 plots now being used to grow potatoes, peas, beans, pumpkin, squash, courgettes, leeks, sweetcorn and kohlrabi
• Fruit cage erected and varieties of strawberries, tayberries, raspberries, red and black currants, gooseberries and blueberries planted and producing fruit
• First polytunnel completed and housing tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers - all grown from seed
• Second polytunnel frame erected and timberwork started
• Children's play area established behind primary school
• 2 raised beds built
